    Bamberg World Heritage Office

    The World Heritage Center serves as the central coordinating body for all matters related to the World Heritage Site and oversees the implementation of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention locally. It was established in 2005 as the “World Heritage Documentation Center” by the City of Bamberg. All activities focus on preserving the outstanding universal value of the “Old Town of Bamberg” World Heritage Site, which is based on the layout and architecture of medieval and Baroque Bamberg.

    Management Plan

    The World Heritage Management Plan serves as the central planning tool for the protection, use, maintenance, and sustainable development of the World Heritage site.
    In accordance with the Guidelines for the Implementation of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, the preparation of a management plan is a mandatory requirement for every World Heritage site.

    The Management Plan contains the key guidelines, tools, and organizational structures essential for the preservation of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Old Town of Bamberg” and its outstanding universal value. It outlines the associated tasks and the framework for the sustainable development of the World Heritage Site.
